![]() We'll keep you updated on the project including if it goes into production before the strike. I'm not sure what it is about Van Damme or Timecop, but with the right director and the right action star, this really could be better than the original. This remake is probably one of the few that could actually turn out good. travel, on the other hand, computes an offset between what we currently think Time.now is (recall that we support nested traveling) and the time passed in. As your program executes, Time.now will not change unless you make subsequent calls into the Timecop API. While IESB won't reveal whom the star is that will likely play Van Damme's role, they state that "he is 100% bad ass and one of the coolest action stars of today." Neither a director nor a writer has been announced either and it's not looking like this film will be pushed into production before next summer's strike. freeze is used to statically mock the concept of now. With the right aspects in place, this remake could be another tentpole blockbuster / guilty pleasure in the works. Conflicted because he knows it is possible to prevent his wife's death, however his job as a TEA prevents him from acting on such a prevention. In it, Van Damme plays a Time Enforcement Agent as part of a specialized police organization. The original Timecop was Van Damme's highest grossing film that topped $100 million worldwide. ![]() Who doesn't love a futuristic sci-fi action movie about a Time Enforcement Agent seeking vengeance for his dead wife? Good news - Dark Horse Entertainment, who is responsible for Hellboy and the upcoming 30 Days of Night, is remaking Timecop! Why is this good? Because the original film was a cheesy 90's flick and Dark Horse is one of the few production companies who might actually turn it into what it really could've been. Regardless you made your choices, and honestly I’d like to see Green team-up with either of these actors.Every hardcore action movie fan has a soft spot for Jean-Claude Van Damme's Timecop from 1994. There was also some debate on whether or not to use the brother-sister team. The oldest of the batch here in Eva Green who is 32 years young. Despite not having this knowledge, you guys kept your choices fairly young. The “prototype” for Scarlet Witch, Saoirse Ronan is 19-years old. Would they be younger or older? Well, if Aaron Taylor- Johnson does in fact take the role for THE AVENGERS 2 then they are possibly looking for actors in their late teens/early twenties. I didn’t realize until after the fact that we had never established ages for Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch. RESULTS FROM PREVIOUS ‘CAST THIS’: Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver Let’s get this cast before the year 2004…wait. I still think we can come up with something. Are kitchen splits a requirement? If that’s the case, doesn’t Channing Tatum do the splits? This might be a harder one than I thought. Maybe someone like Dominic Cooper or Jeremy Renner? I’m just throwing ideas out at this point. So would we go for a more well known name actor or someone from the B-list? When TIMECOP came out, JCVD was 34 years old. I mean, it was one of Van Damme’s top grossing films after UNIVERSAL SOLIDER, of course. What kind of person would play Max Walker? Is there even anyone on the same level as JCVD? Okay, maybe I’m starting to catch a case of unrelenting nostalgia. Sure, he is a one of a kind guy, the “Muscles from Brussels” but we can easily make someone else Walker without worrying about our emotional attachment. That said, Jean-Claude Van Damme isn’t irreplaceable in this role. Most movie fans I know would actually say it was a fun time. Now that TIMECOP is getting a reboot why not cast the role of Max Walker? I wouldn’t say this was a classic by any means, but it wasn’t a crappy movie in my humble opinion. Its power lies in distilling the essence of Van Dammes talents into one minute of Enya-backed entertainment. I thought this edition of Cast This would be for fun. But this means more to Van Damme-ists if were ranking this among the all-time great splits, Id place it ahead of the Timecop fight scene but behind some of the iconic Bloodsport moments, simply because of its more meditative nature.
